31 and barely saving anything on a $65k salary. Need to get my shit together
Kinda sad seeing everything tracked like this lol, but here’s everything for transparency:
- 401k: $15k
- Robinhood: $8k
- Checking: $2k
- Credit card debt: -$3k
Making $65k as a project manager but living paycheck to paycheck. No real investment strategy, just throwing money at random stocks when I can.
Started actually tracking everything and realizing I need to change:
- Living alone ($1500 rent is killing me)
- Bad spending habits
- No emergency fund
- Zero strategy
Everyone keeps talking about investing and growing wealth but I can barely save. Not sure if I should:
- Find roommates to cut rent
- Focus on debt first
- Start real investing
- Look for better job
Anyone turn things around in their 30s? Need some real advice here.
