i think "alesis" is Mkgee's best song.
everytime i try and listen through the album, i end up listening to alesis seven times in a row. it's the one song i obsessively go back to on the project. in so many ways i think it's his best vocal performance; the emotion, the different pockets he's singing in throughout the song. he's using a lot of chest voice, even some falsetto. as far as production, it incorporates all the best elements of his style. the mix allows the drum and bass to knock through so well, but his vocal still sits so nicely within the song. lyrically, he's reached new heights with this song. structure is flawless as well. probably missing a few points here but my gosh, been my favorite song for the last month or so.
