Items not showing up when I use replace item command?

I play on PS4 edition, and I wanted to mess around with the "/ReplaceItem" command. But for some reason when I try to do it, nothing changes with my character, the item still gets replaced and act just like a normal item when I take it off, but when I use the command nothing happens
