Whats the fastest vertical travel?

I've built a base on the peak of an icy mountain. I'm at about y +190. I plan to make a mine shaft that goes through the mountain down to diamonds. I don't want to take forever going up a ladder. Any suggestions on how to go up and down 200 blocks fast? A video that works for current bedrock would be helpful and appreciated.

I've heard minecart elevators are the fastest but can't find a video that isn't 4y or more old. So I'm not sure if they are outdated. Thank you
