Embarrassing Moments Per Generation

I’m a teacher and my 8th graders were all born in either 2011 or 2010. Today one of them literally started crying because she was born in 2011 and she didn’t want to be gen alpha because, in her words, gen alpha is so embarrassing.

I asked her why gen alpha is so embarrassing and she was like because they’re all sephora face, skibidi boys, brain rot. And I said every generation. had their embarrassing moments, like gen z ate tide pods, is it really that better? Then I gave her some life advice that irrelevant to this post to quell her sadness.

But I was talking about this with my millennial friends after like we get roasted for side parts and skinny jeans but did we have an equivalent to sephora face and tide pods?

we talked about how we were the first generation who documented our adolescence online, so whatever embarrassing trends in previous generations couldn’t have been so widespread, instantaneous, and documented. every generation after us will have their embarrassing moments documented and ridiculed in the internet forever.
