diagnosed with grade 2 meniscus tear (no accidents)
Hi all! Last year around April, the back of my right knee began to hurt. I didnt mind it so much as i thought it was just due to driving. then came May, my whole knee started to hurt so I went to orthopedic and doctor gave nsaid / pain reliever. my leg knee started to hurt too. (for background, i had little to zero physical activities prior as i wfh and mostly just sit for x hours and lie down)
after two weeks i went back and doctor request MRI and EMG:
MRI result for both knees:
- posterolateral bundle injury of the anterior cruciate ligament with grade 2 sprain / partial tear of the rest of the ligament
- intact menisci
- minimal joint effusion
- milk bursitis, deep infrapatellar bursa
i did 6 sessions of PT last july, pain subsided but it felt like my knees are kinda weak. though i travelled twice and attended concert… with almost 10k steps per day and those days i didnt feel the pain.
then on november i went to another orthopedic, he requested PT sessions again. done with it this month, i honestly didnt feel it was helpful at all.
btw, since november the pain started to come up to my buttocks / lower back and my thighs / legs are stiff (as per the PT)
im doing the PT execises atleast 2-3 times a week and 30 mins on walking pad as instructed (cos early January I did it everyday and the doctor said it’s probably painful cos over did it)
now my doctor said PRP could be helpful (before suggesting surgery) but it’s pricey so im wondering if you guys have any suggestions on my next step. is PRP worth it? should i go to another doctor? do you have suggestions for exercises that are available in youtube so i can follow it.
thanks so much
