How was your first experience with changing more than just switches

Hi! Im a total noob and did not really do much, except for Tape mod.
Now I ordered some staebies and I’m curious. How was your first time doing changes that take a little more effort? Anxious that you might destroy something? Exiting?, what’s your experience I’m a mix of anxious and really really hyped!
