McLaren's "two first driver policy"

McLaren this year has made it clear that they insist on not prioritizing one driver over the other for the sake of WDC.

Zak Brown just said it again in his recent "High Performance" podcast interview, using 2007 as an example, saying (paraphrasing) "if we had prioritize one over the other, maybe one could have won WDC in 2007, but they were on equal points, how could you prioritize one over the other when they're tied?"

What do you think of it?

If next year, or a few years down the line, we have this situation where the two drivers are fairly evenly matched, let's say 60-40 or 55-45, after the first several races; they are fighting for WDC but so is another driver from another team. Would you rather:

a. McLaren to prioritize the (slightly) ahead driver to make sure he gets the best chance at WDC; or

b. McLaren to prioritize inner team equality and not prioritize any one, even if it means the driver from the other team gets WDC?
