This Duran saga is so frustrating, but also amusing.

I remember arguing tooth and nail that the whole VAR situation with the Liverpool vs Spurs match (Diaz offside) was a huge indicator that change needs to happen. The narrative was heading that direction too, it felt like even though Liverpool are despised – the majority of people realised that fuck up was unacceptable at such a high level of sporting. It felt like Liverpool could do something about it, perhaps rally up other teams to force the issue.

Then, Klopp said the whole “I’d want a replay but it won’t happen” thing. Suddenly, it took a huge 180. Suddenly the media narrative was just “lol Klopp moaning, wants a replay!!!”. The average fan from other teams jumped on the bandwagon like sheep. All over social media and group chat, suddenly the refereeing in that match was forgotten and it just became a situation of jumping on Klopps comments.

And just like that, the whole saga fizzled out in the media. I have to say, someone somewhere absolutely saved the PGMOL's arse.

Then this Duran issue crops up and it’s clear indicator the PGMOL is still an absolute shitshow, and suddenly people are yet again up in arms about it. As if it’s some kind of shock?

Really goes to show how easily people are swayed by the media.
