Is newsprint an alright medium to print onto?

I know it is not ideal as a rule, for sure. But I need to do some test prints on multiple blocks, which obviously will take some paper I need to burn through.

Then I want to run off a bunch of copies, but they are very much not supposed to be proper 'pieces,' there's just going to be a pile to grab at a bookstore - more like a zine than a suitable-for-framing type thing. That said, if it's going to disintegrate or pucker, I'm not going to bother.

I'm also on a tight budget right now so I don't want to blow money on 11x17 or larger pads of proper paper when it's not really what I want anyhow.

I've done a bunch of linos and prints in the past, but I haven't explored substrate very much outside printmaking paper and testing on computer printer paper, which sucks.
