advice for an aspiring lawyer?

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve known that I wanted to pursue law; I’m currently a junior in high school and I still feel the same, but I feel very lacking. My peers usually either are from generations of practitioners or someone with lots of experience and knowledge in law. Aside from dreams, I don’t really have anything. I also don’t really have anyone to guide me so I come to you:

Do you guys have any advice for an aspiring lawyer? I want to intern, volunteer, or apprentice in something, but I don’t really know where to start. I have many volunteering experience (mostly in event organization) and have interned in marketing / business fields (which is not really law).

I heard that cold emailing lawyers is usually the go-to when it comes to this and I might try that. Basically, I’m just looking for advice, guidance, information, and resources. Even just words of encouragement is fine with me, or your own personal experience/thoughts of being in the field of law. Like, if you could say something to your high school self, what would it be?

What did you guys do in your high school years to maximize your chances? What do you recommend that I should or should not do right now? Should I read specific books or learn certain skills in advance?
