Larp Arrows Safe; Why Not Javelins? A Newbie's question
Hello! Happy Holidays too as of time of posting!
First off; I understand that the answer may or may not be obvious, but I am just stuck:
Larp arrows have cores and are shot using the force multiplier of a bow, while still being deemed generally safe.
Larp javelins however rarely exist as throwing weapons with cores are deemed dangerous. I am not quite clear as why, in comparison, though, as much of the reasonings seem to be equivalent for arrows;
- arrows have exposed shafts that could theoretically hit someone if a shot goes awry, so why is a thrown core more dangerous?
- throwing allows too for variable power per target's distance, if that is an issue.
- wouldn't a bow have more power than your typical throw?
If someone could explain the reasoning to me, I would really appreciate it, as it has been eating at me.
