Friday Market question

Hi all! Can someone please explain why people dump their pets in Kuwait? We have seen some horrific images and videos from Friday Market and the streets from Kuwait where poor cats and dogs are left to die in horrible conditions. Why do people keep dumping them? Why they get them in the first place? What can be done to prevent this? There are volunteers and rescues that try to save as many as they can but the odds are against them - too many pets are being dumped opposed to how many can and will be saved. Please share your opinions.
