We need walkable public parks in residential neighborhoods

I shouldn't have to drive to Karura or Oloolua to be in touch with nature, walk, cycle e.t.c. People shouldn't have to commute to Uhuru park on the weekend. There should be options close to home that they can walk to, especially in more densely populated neighborhoods. There's definitely space for it in Nairobi.

I think it would be excellent if the river regeneration project also included the creation of a network of parks and urban forests, pioneered by actual professionals like urban planners and landscape architects, so that all residential neighborhoods in Nairobi have access to parks and other green spaces.

Parks pictured are: 1. Mega Park at Megabangna, Thailand 2. Nantong Waterfront, Nantong City, Jiangsu province China.
