Is the pain of discipline enough to transform the Puer Aeternus?
I have come to know that suffering is essential for the Puer to transform into an adult. His infantile self is so weak that it needs the hardships of life to make it grown and become mature.
So I was wondering whether the pain of disciplining the child and doing things he rather not do is enough to transform into an adult. Or does the Puer have to go through really painful experiences and the disappointments of life?
The first is possible, but the second isn't reasonable. I personally can't just hurt myself to grow, but I can bear the discipline.
