What is JEE?

I'm a "Dropper". I don't know what it's called a drop but my parent call it that. My parents after 12th passing asked me to take one year off. I don't know why? I wanted to open a Daru shop after 12th passing,marry,have kids and settle down. But... My mom signed me up for this JEE thing. I don't know what it is. Now she says I have to go somewhere on 24th January (is she sending me to orphanage?) So I found this forum, so guys and girls, what is the JEE thing?
