Actors opening up about characters they missed out playing

I kind of feel it very odd when actors come out and say they were initially casted for a particular role, especially when the film is successful. What difference does it make? I feel it kind of takes away the effort of the actors who eventually went on and did the role. Like indirectly saying you know, I was first choice of the director.

For eg Bhasi was brilliant and so was kani and divya prabha, and this kind of disrespectful to them in that sense.

Huge respect to Mohanlal and Mammotty, everyone knows stories like Drishyam etc where one rejected and other took over. Never seen them regretting or coming out in public and saying this. Your thoughts?
