If Indiana wants to raise some money, why not tax guns annually as property tax like autos?

In order to support many budget shortcomings, why not tax guns annually as property? Colorado has started to do it as an excise tax, but if done annualy, it would be a recurring income. Taxation could also be adjusted based upon lethality or capacity. Also, if used in a crime or unlawful death, tax charges can be added to the charges, especially if its not registered for taxation or its owned by someone else. Same for ghost guns or add more charges for illegal modifications. Unlawful death could bring charges for the owner for unsecured. And on top of it, it won't affect the Second Ammendment since it doesn't affect ownership. Exceptions can be made for hunting rifles shot guns and antiques or muzzle loaders for obvious reasons.
