Request: You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero

I read this book when I was feeling stuck in a rut - I think around 2017 - I didn’t expect much but I thought it would give me a boost/motivation to get out of my rut.

It’s honestly one of the most deranged books I ever read and perfect IBCK material. There’s a bit in it where she talks about becoming a life coach (something she has zero qualifications for) and then she made lots of money by charging extortionate amounts to tell them that they should become life coaches and then find clients to perform the same con on. A Ponzi scheme basically.

She also had a bit on making money - this section I don’t remember well but was basically that if you act poor then you will be poor? So you should spend like you’re already rich and the universe will reward you for it?? And if you hate your job just quit and “will” yourself a new one. Basically The Secret with cursing.

It has rave reviews on Amazon and I was genuinely so shocked at how few people could tell it was clearly all a scam.

I think it would be a good subject for IBCK cos the author is liberal (or at least sees herself that way) so it would be a bit of a change from the right wing grifters/manifesters.

ETA - I’m aware anyone can call themselves a life coach - in the same way that anyone can call themselves a nutritionist.

I didn’t mean qualified as in a PHD etc. I meant it in terms of life experience. She had no experience with helping people, overcoming difficult problems in her own life, etc.
