Is En a form of emission?
My understanding is that the user will fill a volume with aura and have that aura linked to their body, which allows them to sense any objects that touches or interacts with that aura.
Which category this belongs to does to seems clear to me, since the aura is not fully detached from your body like what emission entails.
I am asking this because if it is really emission, why would Neferpitou have the largest En of any character we have seen so far. They would only have a 60% mastery over emission because they are a specialist.
If it is enhancement since it is an advanced form of Ren, wouldn't that be even worse since Pitou will only have a 40% mastery?
Is Nen affinity even relevant here and it is just a simple matter of aura reserves?
Edit: Thanks for the replies, I know I am overthinking it, I just think it's a fun discussion. After reading the comments I believe there are a few things that I did not consider
- Pitou might not be the best example since specialist don't necessarily follow the normal mastery distribution percentages
- Affinity might not be relevant here since En is foundational application of Nen and the only factor in En size is just sheer amount of aura
- I forgot about Kite, he has a larger En than Nobu even though Nobu has 80% in emission compared to kites' 40%. So it might just be a skill you train not relevant to you affinity.
- If Affinities does play a role, it cloud be in relation to how a nen user is trained to use aura and not related to the capabilities of the affinity itself. This is pure speculation but this would means emitter might have a harder time since they are used to expelling the aura and detaching it. Maintaining it attached could go against their natural inclination to let go. This could go the opposite way as well, emitters can be naturally gifted at En since they are used to having their aura at a distance from their body.
