I'm being evicted!
Got a phonecall from the letting agent to say I should expect a section 21 (no fault) eviction notice in the next few days
The rent is cheap but it's a dump. I've lived here for 15 years and hardly bothered the landlord at all, never missed a payment, etc. I did ask him to fix a couple of things a few months back that he'd been neglecting for ~6 and ~12 months, but that's only because they were causing water ingress and long term damage to HIS property and I was being a responsible tenant
For instance, there are leaks in the roof (which I told him about years ago!) but he's not interested and they're not severe and I just put buckets under them. Most of the time I just fix things myself (at my expense) but I'm not a roofer
There are windows falling out of the frames, part of the ceiling fell down, there's ZERO insulation, there's a crack in the soil stack which the council ordered him to fix years ago but he never did. I told him about all these things years ago but they were never fixed. It's basically uninhabitable but I didn't complain because it was cheap and he left me alone
And now he's giving me 2 months to move all my stuff out. Is there any way I can delay or appeal this? I have depression, executive dysfunction and a whole load of other anxiety problems so the thought of moving my entire life out in 2 months is just insane. A normal person would struggle to do that, and I'm not a normal person. It took me all day just to write this message!
