Books you think are underhyped, overhyped, and appropriately hyped
I’ve seen this go around on TikTok/Instagram, and then the main r/RomanceBooks subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/RomanceBooks/comments/1gpm8zo/underhyped_overhyped_appropriately_hyped_books/. I thought it’d be fun to do here since I haven’t seen one with historical romance opinions yet.
If you are a little confused you just state books you loved and you think deserve more attention, books that are talked about a lot but you just thought were mediocre/bad, and books that get a lot of buzz that you think deserve its praise!
Underhyped: {Duke in Darkness by Nicola Davidson}, {The Cruel Dark by Bea Northwick}, and {The Duke’s Rules of Engagement by Jennifer Haymore}
Overhyped: {Guilty Pleasures by Laura Lee Ghurke} and {The Perfect Rake by Anne Gracie}. These were 3.5 stars for me and fun enough, but very underwhelming overall.
Appropriately Hyped: Anything by Lisa Kleypas, Tessa Dare, Alice Coldbreath, {Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold by Ellen O’Connell}, and recently {The Devil is a Marquess by Elisa Braden}
