1.5T MRI question
I know 3T or 1.5T w/ contrast are best for showing torn labrums but does that also apply for diagnosing FAI too? Is it common for a non-contrast MRI to miss or underestimate the cam/pincer lesions?
Background: x-rays came back as normal (no pathology) and 1.5T MRI without contrast showed no labrum tear and “minimal hip spurring”. I have all the major symptoms of FAI and labrum tear so I pushed my surgeon to order an MRI with contrast.
