Hardcore freelancer question

can i do it without having weapons beforehand? like no inventory items if that makes sense? or is it recommended i get certain items first? im just wondering for the prestige objectives mainly that are necessary for hardcore, like the ‘epic melee or legendary rifle’ objectives (wondering if i woukd be unlucky later on to get all three as a selection and not havw those specific weapons)
