HD2 completely kills all sound on my computer

So I've recently wanted to get back into Helldivers 2 but found myself hitting a hard wall. No sound. I use a Steel Series Arctis 9 headset via the Steel Series GG software. It used to work back when I played for months when it first came out, but now, no matter what I do, I get no sound from anything once I launch Hd2. The only way to even fix it is to either restart or unplug/replug the usb connector after killing Hd2.

Anyone experience this and find a fix?
