Most effective/powerful at-home IPL/laser, regardless of pain?

Hullo there, really hope you lot can help!

I'm looking into buying an at-home device, since I get loads of very stubborn ingrowns, but after reading tonnes of reviews, I feel a wee bit lost... I'm looking for the strongest possible at-home device, regardless of pain, and most of the reviews I've seen seem to prioritise devices that don't cause discomfort.

I own a Silk'n Glide (dark purple one), and blimey, what a disappointment! After pretty consistent use (2-5 times a month) for a little under half a year, I gave up. I saw a bit of hair reduction and thinning of the hair shafts, but nowhere near smoothness, and I'd still get bloody ingrowns... I can't feel the flashes at all, even at the highest intensity level.

So, I'm willing to deal with any pain if it means avoiding anymore scars from ingrowns. I unfortunately can't afford laser hair removal treatments (ridiculously expensive where I'm at). I don't expect to get laser-results from an at-home device, but even so, I'd love to hear any recommendations from you lot?

Skin tone: translucent.

Colour of body hair: brown/dark brown (with finer hairs closer to blonde).
