Thoughts on signature guitars?

Would you get a signature guitar? Why/Why not? Do you prefer them to very signature looking, like my Schecter Synyster Gates, or a bit more lowkey like my Kirk Hammett V that only has a little KH signature on the headstock? I think I prefer the more lowkey look, but I do love my Syn custom
