Just unlocked the warclaw mount. I feel like an absolute idiot. Am I or is this a glitch?

New player here, 200 hours in after starting a month ago. This game is my fav so far!! 100%d the world and currently doing the thorns expansion. So as you can imagine the only mount i've had thus far is the raptor I got at level 10. Pardon my surprise 5 minutes ago when I clicked on the mounts tab and discovered I had the warclaw unlocked. It's so much better, faster, and can even save me in mid air from fall damage by dashing. I seriously cannot believe how much of a fool I am for not noticing I had it unlocked the entire time. ;w;

But here's the thing. Everyone I've talked to in-game has said you can only unlock the pve version if you have the new Janthir expansion (which I do not have). Not only that, but I know the raptor is currently unable to do everything it can do because I have not gotten to its mastery track yet, but the warclaw currently has all of its key abilities available. So my question to this subreddit is, is this a thing? I did a wvw match and now I can just use it anywhere. Like is this a glitch or am I just an idiot? The wiki has conflicting answers. If not I hope it's okay to share both my joy xD
