How active is Rising

Is Rising worth the buy right now and how active is it, I played a little bit of base versus and i really liked it but it was practically dead when I went online so Ive been hesitant to buy Rising. Is it worth and how much longer is the game gonna last.

P.S where does rising pull DLC from I wanna be hype too
