Forced to settle for less!

I was using the Verizon messages app. It was great for me. I care a lot about aesthetics and I love to customize the appearance, from the font - both size and style, to background, and boubles. One day a message appeared at the top of my app saying that my Verizon Messages app will be taken down soon and the only available alternative is Google Messages. I was forced into settling for less! Google Messages only offers light or dark. That's it. It doesn't even offer to choose the notification sounds. You don't get to choose the appearance of the boubles, only yes or no bubbles. Boring and not oriented to please the user at all! It's like going from a succulent steak to simmered, tasteless chicken!
