Kota and Alisa in art books

I came across a blogpost earlier that mentioned in the art books of the first two games the directors apparently liked the pairing of Kota and Alisa.

Can anyone here confirm this?

(To a lesser extent, if they did alter canon to make it YuuXAlisa, do you think it was the right choice?)
