Help identifying/translating: “What does the farmer know?”

My yiayia often used this phrase in English. I believe it is a translation (or mis-translation?) of a Greek idiom, but my Greek language skills are very elementary, and I haven’t been able to find any information about the origin of this phrase. Do any native speakers recognize it?
