Father Khatri's Explanation of, "The Plan"

Rewatching the last episode and Father Khatri tries to talk Boyd out of capturing one of the nightmare monster but what he says, I find a bit interesting.

He tells Boyd something to the affect of, "You're going to lure one of those things into the house, shut the door and put a talisman outside, then go in there the next DAY, searching each room looking for it until it jumps out and attacks you."

And I thought that was interesting since the implication is the thing will still be awake while the sun is up 😳.

What if those things don't sleep during the day? Are they awake all day and night?

I was under the impression they hunt at night because they rest/sleep during the day but father Khatri is implying something else.
