Should a previous electrical fire be a dealbreaker?

I’ve been on the house hunt for about 6 months now and have been striking out. Anytime I find something interesting, it either doesn’t live up to expectations once I tour it, or it gets snatched up before I can put an offer in.

I toured a house today that I absolutely loved. It has been completely remodeled and the price point was really good considering everything was new. The plumbing, electrical, roof, paint, flooring, appliances, etc. have all been updated.

Come to find out, the reason the house has been completely updated is due to an electrical fire. According to the seller, the house was taken down to the studs, and actually had a lot of studs replaced as well. Insurance paid for the entire job.

I really like this house, but my dad is a firefighter and is absolutely freaked out about the fact that there was a previous electrical fire. I’m honestly a little nervous too, but I’m wondering if it’s okay because it was taken down to the studs and everything has been replaced.

Is this something to worry about, or should it be okay? Should this be a dealbreaker that I walk away from?
