UPDATE on KowKow
Soooo, KowKow is FIV+ which means he is an indoor kitty now. I had planned on taking him to the vet, getting him meds to put in his food, and letting him stay an outside cat that can come in when needed because he would have had a check up and all his vaccinations (I have to go back in a few weeks to get the boosters for FLV and CHP).
But the vet said no more outside for him, so we cleaned up our finished basement, and set him up down there while we give him meds for his conjunctivitis, and socialize him a bit more. He is really comfortable with us, but we want to eventually adopt him out to either be the only kitty, or a kitty in a house of other FIV+ kitties, so we want him to be as affectionate with other people so they will swipe him up, take him home, and love him forever.
It is the end of his second full day as an indoor cat, and he seems to like it. He only meows when it's breakfast and dinner time, and when he hears the other cats scratching at the door. Otherwise, he is sleeping on the couch or on our carpeted stairs. He is also using the litterbox like a champ, eating and drinking well, and I just couldn't be prouder of him!
I got his meds tonight, and I will start administering them tomorrow. I can't wait until his eyes clear up and he won't have to squint anymore. I sure do love this little senior guy (they guess he's about 11) and hope I can find someone to love him just as much or more!
