Can't stop Suspend / Hibernate on Fedora 41

I tried a few distros but ended my search with Fedora which I have used as a daily driver for almost 2 years.

But....

There is one thing that is driving me crazy and nothing I have tried seems to stop it!

  • I run Fedora 41 on a DELL XPS 13 9340 hooked up to a 38" Monitor.
  • I keep the laptop lid closed and in a stand and use an external keyboard and mouse.
  • I have disabled all power options that make Fedora go in to suspend mode either on battery or mains power.
  • I have disabled auto logout
  • I have tweaked GNOME to ensure that when there is no user logged in, GNOME observes the power settings.
  • I have disabled the Laptop Lid in the BIOS of the XPS

I want Logout and Suspend to be entirely manual processes.

Every night, when I logout manually, I want the Laptop to NOT go into suspend mode. I just want it to sit there and do nothing ready for me in the morning.

However.....

What happens is that Fedora goes into Suspend Mode and I am unable to wake it up using the external keyboard or mouse.

The only way to wake it up is to open the lid of the laptop and then login.

How can I stop Fedora / GNOME from entering suspend!
