Why can’t the driver follow instructions?
We have this beautiful automatic gate thanks to a FedEx driver destroying the old gate and driving away, fortunately the property is fully under video surveillance so we captured the entire incident. One of the benefits of the new system is I can put in individual codes for friends, family and delivery drivers. The FedEx app even has a place to provide the driver with the gate code. Despite that, if the gate is closed, the driver will leave packages outside the gate for anyone to take and because of that when I have a delivery scheduled, I’ll leave the gate open since putting in 4 numbers is apparently an arduous task. Despite the gate being open, the driver could only get the packages as far as just inside the gate. We have a nice long drive with a large improved turnaround to make it easy on the drivers. The delivery instructions even say to put packages on the porch and to use the turnaround.
This is more than an inconvenience, as sometimes the items are left in the middle of the driveway or if they are small, they’ll be tossed over the fence or be put in a bag and hung on the gate, which could jam the mechanism and destroy the package. In general we pay a premium for FedEx service over USPS. Is it too much to ask to follow the simple instructions?
