How many series do you read at a time?
I’ve gotten really into reading recently, and like many others that was a result of my love for Mistborn. Anyway, I’ve since read the entire trilogy, Warbreaker, and am now halfway through Oathbringer.
I’m a slow reader and often busy so this has taken me a solid few months. In that time, I’ve consumed a fair bit of content regarding fantasy novels and have a huge list of authors and series I want to get to. Initially, my plan was to read the entirety of the Cosmere (which I am still intent on doing) but I also am having a huge itch for beginning other series once I’ve completed Oathbringer.
Some series that I’m really craving to begin are the WoT, Red Rising, First Law, Discworld, and Sun Eater.
I think I may a few of those before continuing the Stormlight Archive, but I was wondering if being in the middle of 4-5 or even more series is a common thing. I imagine there are many of you who prefer being in one series at a time, which is completely valid and makes sense.
For those who do read a plethora of series, how tough do you find jumping between series to be? Are you easily able to come back to a series after a little while and with having read different books in between?
I think it’s a fine thing to do because when you think about it, reading multiple series at a time is sort of the same as reading a book and then waiting a year or two for the next instalment (and of course in that time reading other books).
Anyway I’ve been rambling a bit but let me know your thoughts on this!
