Fallout fans, what do you think of the series in general? my opinion below
in my opinion i didn't like it as much as i thought i would; i want to open a first point where i think the series failed a bit, in the first episode it says based on the fallout game series, right? In my opinion, the producers ignored the Fallout saga and simply took the setting in New Vegas with the "gameplay and narrative" of the fourth game, totally leaving out the first ones that brought origin to the story and construction of this universe. Another point I want to discuss is that I found the setting of the series to be rather empty, I'm not a cameraman or anything like that and I know it must be difficult and expensive to have a lot of extras, but it's very strange to see the protagonist going around without being attacked by swarms of ants or raiders and since the series is based on the game series I found it strange to have few combats, another thing was the lack of mutations, again talking about production, it must be expensive to use a lot of CGI but I missed not having so many mutants or mutant animals, you can count on your fingers the animals and other beasts that actually have mutations throughout the series, I also didn't like the ending and the course of the last few episodes, the series puts all the blame on big companies, while in the games it clearly says that it was the fault of the exaggerated consumerism of the Americans and other nations that led to the resource war, now the end of the series where the protagonist's father simply steals the power armor and flies away, I found this ending very rushed and not very thought out, I liked the mother's plot, she turned into a ghoul and the protagonist's father did that, and oh I remembered something else, the vault-tec scientist who only appeared in a few episodes and died later, they don't give an explanation about his past, they don't say who did it cold fusion technology (which I thought was bad for the future of games, this infinite energy, which indicates in my head that Fallout 5 will probably be the last game in the franchise) and another thing is that at least this season, you know, they don't say anything how Pridwen arrives at NCR and they don't comment anything about the synthetics on the east coast, but anyway I hope that in the second season they "fix" these "errors" and I also hope that they don't change the canonical ending of FNV.
