What is with apartment complexes in Eugene not having sufficient guest parking?
My partner went to check out his buddy's new apartment tonight in Eugene. He parked in an unmarked parking spot at the apartment complex near the visitor parking area - take in mind, all resident parking spots appeared to be clearly labeled and numbered. He was at the complex for just over an hour before deciding to leave. He then walked out to the parking lot to find his vehicle missing and another car in its place (clearly this other vehicle belonged to a resident at the complex). Turns out the resident had my partner's vehicle towed approximately 30 minutes after he'd parked it. Now, the tow company is quoting $460 to have us come pick up the vehicle. The company won't even allow my partner to come pick up his work clothes and gear tonight (he'd just gotten off a long day at work when this happened) without a hefty fee. I understand the frustrations of someone parking in your spot, especially if you pay for it, but it was clearly unmarked (we have pictures) and in the guest parking area and to do this before Christmas... it's just really upsetting.
