Seriously, her brother went on a business trip to ascend to Godhood, not to get milk. Malenia knows exactly what he was going to do, she actively took part in his plan, he acknowledged her role, she was waiting for his plan to succeed

Not to mention, Miquella did not simply order Malenia to kill Radahn. He marched to Caelid with her. He was present on the battlefield, healing those scarred by her Scarlet Rot, as said by Freyja

My loyal blade
Let’s think, who could possibly be Miquella’s loyal blade? Has there ever been a character that said they were the blade of Miquella?

So nobody then. Fromsoft did an asspull smh they kept hiding stuff from us. Who is this mysterious "loyal blade" and why is Malenia forgotten?
Back to Miquella, his whole speech was
My loyal blade. And champion of the festival. Both your deeds will ever be praised in song. Now, the vow will be honoured, and my Lord brother’s soul will return. So that he may be my consort.
He is thanking 2 different people: his loyal blade (Malenia) and the champion of the Radahn festival (the player). Their common action was that they both attempted to kill Radahn, with the latter being successful. The reason I believe these are the 2 people being mentioned is the sentence "Now, the vow will be honoured, and my Lord brother’s soul will return", with emphasis on "Now". It means Radahn’s soul could not have returned without the 2 people Miquella was thanking, since he would not have died in the first place
This is all to say that Malenia clearly failed her mission - Radahn was unfortunately alive which was why the player’s action was helpful. Yet Miquella still thanked her, saying that her deed would be "ever praised in song"
This is actually a super rare case where an Elden Ring character was still grateful for someone’s failed attempt to help them

- Miquella planned on returning to the Lands Between
Apparently some people thought Miquella only wanted to stay in the Land of Shadow and rule there. This is not the case: a God and their Lord rule the whole world
One god, and one king consort, is all the world needs
That is the whole reason you are here to kill Miquella. As an "aspiring Lord of the old Order", you are guided by Marika’s Grace of Gold to prevent his new Order. Otherwise he could have been left ruling Land of Shadow while you marry his mom and rule the Lands Between. Thanks Leda for the revelation:

And because of this, Miquella will have to return to the Lands Between to kill Marika and Radagon ("one God and one King Consort is all the world needs"). That is when he would reunite with Malenia, and probably get the Haligtree army to invade Leyndell
In addition, the Haligtree was supposed to be Miquella’s Erdtree where he rules from. And it is positioned in the Lands Between
Though watered with Miquella’s own blood since it was a sapling, the Haligtree ultimately failed to grow into an Erdtree.
Malenia also straight up said she was waiting for Miquella to return, which means she knows he would be leaving and come back after ascending to Godhood

There is a reason why Miquella kept yapping about his vow with Radahn. If he said he wanted to do something he absolutely would try to accomplish it. He sucks and failed all the time but he never lies - when he promised to return he genuinely aimed to return
