1 day after trying my first blunt

Me and my friend recently came into possession of some devils lettuce and I had never tried it before yesterday. He's an experienced drug-doer so he had some paper prepared and ruled a blunt for me. I hit a ghost off it my first inhale but afterwards I didn't feel too good. I woke up today and I think my eyes are still red and I woke up with a "floating" feeling. Is there such thing as a permanent high? Somebody help please.
