These villagers seem out-proportionately greedy.
I am doing the bonus tasks for the event right now, and I've had to give Jack and Sally gifts.
Two days in a row, Sally has wanted an Evergem.
Is this example outrageous to anyone else?
And it's not just her. Buzz has asked for them too multiple times I've needed to get him something.
Today, I have requests for
- 1 shiny Zircon
- 1 Zircon
- 1 Alexanderite
- 1 Spinel
- 1 Shiny Diamond
- 1 shiny spinel
- 1 opal
- 1 shiny bumblestone
- 1 shiny evergem
- 1 evergem
- 1 bumblestone
- 1 Diamond
Most of those can only be mined from ONLY 1 location. The rest are just 2 locations.
So in essence, these items are rare, and the fact that so many people want them daily, in this frequency is difficult on me. I only have so much time to play a day. I'm a busy adult.
I know I can use a potion, but I feel I'm pretty unlucky with getting onyx that I can't make potions every day. I'm at the point where I have no onyx in my inventory since I'm using them so quickly. But even with the potion, I may not even end up getting gemstones from the mineral deposits depending on luck of the draw.
I think on average, half that many rare gems would be more appropriate on any given day.
Today Buzz wants both a Bumblestone and Shiny Everygem
I also think it's annoying when they ask for dishes that I haven't learned yet. As someone who really wants to retain ownership of my game accomplishments, I am trying not to just look up how to do everything in this game from people online. I want to figure stuff out on my own. I figured out most of the Base Game meals through context clues and guessed. (Though Tamagoyaki seemed a strange recipe.... I still don't full get that one not involving rice)
Unless there is a gameplay feature I am truly missing, I don't know how I'm supposed to know how to make certain dishes or even learn the recipes in this game on my own. At least Mirabel had the Capybara quest to figure out their favorite food.
The rest of the gifts are flowers or easily farmed produce, which is fine. But it seems their wants are an incredibly small list of things that get RNG-d into the daily ask even with both expansions.
