Does DLS have lore?

I've been wondering this ever since a few years ago when I downloaded the game for the first time. I have searched and searched but there hasn't been any information about why football in the DLS universe has changed as told in the DLS intro when you first download the game.

Is there any more information about this? I find it really interesting honestly and would love it if there was some kind of lore behind this.

(Btw, does anyone have a transcription of what the guy in the game's intro says? The part where he says "Football as we know it has changed" or something along the lines of that.)
