I cannot for the life of me understand the Spellbound quest!? HELP!

I think I messed up. Even with some research online, it seems like I can’t get a second copy of fulminius shield, towering earth, or let there be light? I thought you were able to do both the Sorcerer appraisal quest and Trysha’s? Unfortunately I didn’t think to forge ahead of time. Am I out of luck?
