Veilguard... underrated?
I didn't play Veilguard on launch because of all the negativity surrounding it, but recently I picked it up on a whim, and lo and behold, I'm actually enjoying it very much. I've reached a point in the game where things has opened up a bit, and all the side quests and exploration feel so fun. The exploration has that God of War 2018 feel which I'm really loving. The combat is extremely fun. The level design and environmental design are crazy good. And all the character upgrades and gear you find in the world feel so meaningful. I'm loving the regular banter from my companions as well and I'm glad they fixed that after Inquisition.
It's kinda sad Veilguard got overshadowed by all the negativity related to its dialogue writing. Yes dialogue matters, but it's just one part of a video game. There are other parts like visuals, combat, exploration, level design, atmosphere, soundtrack, lore, the overall story (so far it's interesting to me), etc as well, which I think Veilguard does really really well.
