DAE get hair splinters like crazy?

Ever since I was a kid I’ll get hair splinters in the sole of my feet. My parents never had one and always thought I was crazy whenever I’d come to them with a hair in my hand saying I pulled it out of my foot because it felt like I stepped on a nail. It’ll happen like once or twice in a year and I have no idea how I get them or why. I’d never even heard of them until today.
