PSA: How to counter flyers

Phantom ranked player here. Sharing some of the methods/items I use to counter fliers as I've been seeing a lot of people on this sub struggle.

If a flyer is flying they do not have cover. Call out to your team in voice, or spam ping the flyer. Focus fire them. Don't mindlessly shoot the tank who is in the front line who is designed to sponge shots.

Use terrain to your advantage. There are so many tunnels/ buildings with interiors on the map. If the enemy flyer is fed ASF, don't stand/team fight in the middle of a open field unless you 100% have to. E.g. defending walkers/ patron.

For example: If you are ahead of a flyer team by 10k souls, bait them to team fight at mid. Shoot the boss until it's at 60% HP and makes the noise, then team fight. Flyers will be forced in doors where your team will have a massive advantage.

In lane, freeze creeps under your tower. Force flyers to either play aggressive or give up CS. If they over extend. Jump them. Stack up on vitality items like: Extra regen. Sprint boots, Extra health. Healing rite. Enduring spirit + Infuser is a great combo if you are a spirit character.

Items to counter flyers:

Long range: +40% dmg to targets 15 meters away

Sharp shooter: +70% dmg to targets 15 meters away.

Pristine emblem: Faster bullet velocity, easier to shoot fliers.

Knock down: Makes them fall out of the sky, denying them angles.

Slowing Hex: They cannot fly if they are hit with this

Silence glyph: They cannot fly if they are hit with this

Curse: They cannot fly, cannot use their weapon. Easy kill.

Return fire + Divine barrier: Flyers will kill themselves shooting you with this item combo

Metal skin: Most flyers deal bullet dmg, metal skin makes you immune to bullets

More difficult/situational counters:

Seven: 500 reach item + maxed stun. This skill has such a long range and is literally a free knock down.

Wraith (or any gun character) + Shadow weave: Flank the flying characters when they are on the ground and assassinate them.

Pocket: Majestic leap + ult. Burst down the flyer and TP away with cloak. Force the flyer to either retreat or risk dying if they try to fly again as they are on 1HP from affliction.

Lash: Your entire kit is designed to counter flyers. Solo ult flyers if you have to. Burst them down and run away. Force them to buy ES.

Viscous: Magic carpet + Return fire + ult.

Beebop: Hook. Yes I understand its difficult to land.

Tanks like Abrams & Mo, can buy improved bullet armor + escalating resilience + colossus for insane bullet resistance.

Abrams: Phantom strike + Shoulder charge. You can pin a flyer to the wall mid air and punch them to death.

Mo & Krill: Phantom strike + Ult.

Paradox: Kinetic Carbine + Wall + Swap combo on flyers. Literally guaranteed kill.
