I’m like 100% sure this is what Dandadan is

THE CONNECTIONS TO THE DANMARU ARC

Visually, the many different visual representations of “Dandadan” seen in chapter 163 look SPOT ON to the boss system we saw whilst Momo and Zuma were trying to escape the Danmara game. This is not the only connection though, because what Momo and Zuma were doing whilst trying to escape the game was STEALING POWERS & ABILITIES FROM MONSTERS AFTER DEFEATING THEM. This sounds a whole lot like what our antagonist Count Saint Germain is doing, no? These connections are leading me to believe that the Dandadan HAS to be something similar to the system we saw in the Danmara arc. This all leads me to believe that the Dandadan is essentially a seal on the extremely powerful yokai that requires a collection of yokai abilities to break. (just like how the danmara game required them to collect those abilities to unleash fairytale card.)

THE MEANING OF DANDADAN

When it comes to this section, I have yet to fully tie everything together, but I think I’ve made a few discoveries that others haven’t. Everyone talks about the meaning of Danda in Buddhism, but I don’t see enough people talking about the meaning of “Dan” in the word “Danmara”. Essentially Dan (段) in Japanese refers to a ranking or level and it denotes a high level of mastery or progression. I strongly believe the meaning of Danda in Buddhism, and the meaning of Dan in Japanese are mean to go hand in hand in the word “dandadan”. So far though, I’ve only really tied the meaning of Danda in Buddhism to my theory. I believe that since Danda means punishment, that it’s possible this seal set on extremely powerful yokai is a punishment for something in particular, but I’m not 100% sure what exactly that is yet.

IN SUMMARY The Dandadan is a seal set on extremely powerful yokai as a punishment for possibly disrespecting the balance, or getting too powerful. Saint germain aims to break these seals in order to take the powers from these extremely powerful yokai. The Danmara game was kind of a “mini” Dandadan if you will. I mean we literally see visual representation that it’s meant to be the same exact thing that the Dandadan is. The same way Momo and Zuma had to collect abilities to break Fairy Tale card out of the Danmara game, Germain is working to break MANY powerful yokai out of this “Dandadan” seal by collecting all types of abilities and using them to set these yokai free.

I’d love to know your thoughts on my theory, and I wanna hear if you guys notice anything that might be incorrect in it.
