How to go about building a shed

I plan on building a shed from an abundance of scrap wood I have and want to make sure water does not enter from the bottom. I was thinking about laying a few courses of bricks to help keep water out and to retain the earth on the slope. How would I go attaching a wooden frame to the bricks?
